Angela Dowden - Nutritionist

Angela Dowden

As an expert nutritionist and a freelance health writer, Angela Dowden has many years of experience advising people on issues regarding food, health and wellness. She writes for the Daily Mirror, Woman, Best and Health & Fitness magazines on a regular basis and is author of ‘Are You Getting Enough Vitamins and Minerals’ and ‘The Consumer Guide to Vitamins’. In 2001 Angela was voted Health Writer of the Year.

Catherine Collins - Dietitian

Catherine Collins

Catherine Collins is a prebiotics expert and chief dietician for St.George's Hospital in London, where her work includes the pan-hospital Nutrition Strategy Committee. She is the author of several letters and articles in leading medical journals, including ‘Give us food sense not nonsense’.

As a spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, Catherine regularly appears on BBC Breakfast News and BBC News 24, while writing for The Times, Health & Fitness Magazine and Health Which? on an ongoing basis.

Dr. Richard Siow

Dr. Richard Siow

Dr. Richard Siow is a lecturer in Cardiovascular Physiology at King’s College London. He currently researches how dietary antioxidants can reduce the incidence of heart disease, having initially trained in Nutrition and Vascular Biology at King’s College. While he specialises in antioxidants and blood vessel health, Dr. Siow is also interested in diet and anti-ageing.

Away from King’s College, Dr. Siow is on the committee of The British Microcirculation Society and The Physiological Society. He is also a member of The British Society for Cardiovascular Research and The Nutrition Society, and has advised both the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and the Westminster Forum on Diet and Health.

Nigel Denby - Broadcaster

Nigel Denby

Nigel Denby trained as a dietitian at Glasgow Caledonian University, following an established career in the catering industry. He works extensively with the media, writing for the Sunday Telegraph Magazine, Zest, Essentials and other consumer magazines.

A familiar face in the media, Nigel Denby has appeared on BBC and ITN news programmes, Channel 4’s ‘Fit Farm’ BBC Breakfast and BBC Real Story. In January 2005 Nigel’s first book ‘The GL Diet’ was published by John Blake.
